Anyways, I was mowing the lawn Sunday, trying to get out of the house (yes, the in-laws are still here!!). So there I am, mowing away, and I hear "crrriiiink!!!". Yeah, I went over a huge rock I guess. So the lawnmower is destroyed. So, of course I try to fix it, not thinking, and forget that it's still on! I reach in there and start messing with stuff and suddenly the blade comes on. I swear to you, I was an inch away from losing my whole arm. I don't know how I got it out of there unscathed, but a bunch of pieces of rock flew into my face. Long story short, I've been going into work this week with a bunch of marks all over my face from the rocks that flew at me. Plus I think I swallowed some. Deb overreacted of course, but I just hate going into work looking like an idiot. I lied and told all the young guys I work with that I tripped and fell on a rake, but I don't think they believe me.

The Favre Saga Ends
Well, it appears to finally be over. You may have noticed that I carefully avoided mentioning a particular endless saga. I figured ESPN's hour-by-hour updates, speculation, and analysis are enough to satisfy everyone's thirst for Brett Favre info. But now it's all over: He's going to the Jets, and we can get on with our lives. I have to admit, I was kind of hoping the ol' gunslinger would mosey on into d.c. (what an offseason that would be, Jason Taylor and Brett Favre!), but oh well, we've got three capable quarterbacks, as evidenced by the recent Hall of Fame game. My reaction? Hey, if he can help the Jets take on the Evil Empire, lead by Darth Belichick, then I'll be a happy camper.

The Ryp-Tide
Deb is always talking about internet shopping. I had no idea what she was talking about, but last night she was talking about it and showed me how they have an internet shop on NFL.com devoted JUST to the REDSKINS! I'm flabbergasted!
So I did a little online shopping last night.
Le me show you what I bought.
A BRAND NEW JASON TAYLOR NUMBER 55 JERSEY! Deb said she would get this for me for my birthday. If you want to get one you can go to http://www.nflshop.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3211322&clickid=body_rv_img.
AAAAND this
You can get it at http://www.nflshop.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1257384&cp=716689.2237476&pageDisplay=superfamily&pageType=family∫_nextBucket=0&totalProductsCount=341&PRODUCTS_PER_PAGE=9&doVSearch=no&doVSearch=no&pageCount=38&pageBucket=0&pageNum=6∫_prevBucket=0&fpricesort=priceAscending&PAGES_PER_BUCKET=10&filter=yes&fCat=2237476&num_buckets=4&page=7&page_bucket=0&showSizeSearch=false&hasPagination=false&parentPage=family This is gonna look great in the Ryp-Tide.
For those of you who don't know the Ryp-Tide is my basement bar. It's named after my favorite former "Skins quarterback, Mark Rypien, and Deb's love for the ocean. We compromised. That's just what you have to do sometimes.
I don't know why all of this ended up in the center.
Till next time,
Pete

What is fantasy football?
OK, sometimes I feel like I'm in a Twilight Zones episode. Today at work some of the younger guys were talking about Jason Taylor at the watercooler, so I made my way over. Then they start talking about drafting him - uh, what? Guys, Jason Taylor is a 12-year vet! I said this and they just started laughing at me. "It's fantasy football, Pete" they said. Fantasy football? Every football fantasy I ever had came true when Jason "Taylor Made" Taylor came to the 'Skins. They tried to explain it to me but they might as well have been speaking Chinese. I just don't get it. What is fantasy football and what's the point?

When the cat is out the mice will come out to play
The boss is out today so you know what that means - no workie for Pistol Pete today!
Oh yeah this is living. Just spending some time on Redskins Gab. I forgot all about the Hall of Fame game coming up. Too bad Peyton is not playing. I would love to see my boy Jason Taylor crush that pretty boy. Wed see how many commercials he would get after that!
Had a good weekend. Deb and I drove down to Harpers Ferry in West Virginia. Sometime's its just nice to get away, ya know? We had a couple of nice meals and just got to relax. Which was nice. Deb seemed to enjoy herself. So that was good too.

Nooooo!!!
I went into the internet today at work, and what do I find when I click over to my favorite web sight? THIS: Several Redskins Injured » Redskins Gab
Why?! Is Jason Taylor cursed? (I don't think I need to remind you how many wins the Dolphins won last season!) I don't know. I'm still excited about this season but I just don't know now.

OH YEAH! Here are some pictures of Jason Taylor - newest member of THE Washington Redskins. He changed his number to 55. I heard on the radio it was because he said his old number was from his old team and he wanted to start a new chapter with the Redskins. That meant he wanted to change his number as well. So let's hope Deb gets me a new number 55 jersey for my birthday.
